So far, I am loving jazz. I listen to it most mornings when I am getting ready for school. Louis Armstrong is my favorite so far, I think. I love his trumpet playing, and his voice is so distinctive. He just sounds like a really likable guy.
I have really been enjoying Herbie Hancock lately. His music feels wild, free, and also sometimes calming. He is a piano player, but others join him on different instruments. The album I'm listening to is called Speak Like a Child. I also like the album Possibilities. He collaborates with people like John Mayer (who I love!) and Annie Lennox.
Hannah i am not really getting much bloggers though i love the blog! p.s i am julia p.s.s i have bein humming the tune of dark blue all day, my mom has said "shhhhhhhhhhhhh!" at least a million times!
Today I'm listening to my Billie Holiday album, "Lady Sings The Blues." It's kind of what you'd expect: Billie singing a whole lot of sad songs, mostly about break-ups. But honestly, a lot of the songs don't sound sad unless you pay close attention to the words. Many of them just feel relaxed. Go figure, eh?
I'm definitely liking them! Today I was listening to Dave Brubeck. Some of his tunes feel almost frantic, they're so high energy. But it's really amazing music.
